What is Pilates?

Pilates is a form of mind-body exercise using a floor mat or a variety of equipment. Joseph Pilates is credited with creation of this work. The exercises are based on his original principles and builds strong, toned muscles. Pilates teaches body awareness, good posture and easy movement.

Why do I need Pilates in my life?

Pilates helps you move and breathe through your daily activities with more freedom, power and less pain. It is a challenging low impact exercise method that balances strength with mobility, aligns the body, fine-tunes movement patterns, and strengthens the deeper muscles of the core.

Is Pilates different from other exercise?

Pilates trains the body from the inside out. You will learn how to engage and stabilize the muscles of the core to initiate movement. Pilates improves flexibility, agility and range of motion. Pilates can improve pain, athletic ability and overall well being. It is a great way to cross train and prevent injury.

Should I take a private or group class?

Pilates is unlike any other exercise. Private sessions are recommended when you are new to the method. You will receive one-on-one attention to learn the language and intricacies of the Pilates principles.

What do I bring to my first class?

Just YOU!

Our studio provides all equipment for an apparatus or mat Pilates class. We adhere to the highest cleaning standards on each item used in sessions.

We recommend comfortable easy to move in clothing. We have a water station to refill your water bottles and private changing room.

What equipment is used in the session?

Our boutique studio uses new, state of the art, Balanced Body equipment. We have reformers, trapeze towers, trapeze tables (Cadillac), chairs, arcs and the Core Align. We incorporate props such as the magic circle, exercise bands and weights.
